Miroj talks about his unique approach when making this mixtape. Miroj says, ” after my previous single Martial Arts not meeting my expectations it directly affected my approach in releasing this project.” Rather than working with multiple producers on the record Miroj links up with Atlanta heavy weight producer Da Kidd Half . Miroj says, ” I wanted my project to sound unified so i thought it was best to stick with one producer on this record.”
As with part one, Miroj spoke brief on what emotional elements he likes to portray in his music. Miroj says, ” I like to capture every emotion in my music…I always seek to speak the truth in my music about me and about society…” With Miroj releasing more vulnerable music to closely connect with his fans many supporters are buzzing that this may be his best body of work yet. One sure tell sign that the football season is in full affect is when coaches and their respective teams host an open media day for fans and news outlets. During this time the coordinators will tell audience announcements and updates on their team. Some coaches also take the time to boost and brag on their team and pre claim this season championship. However, for Georgia State head Coach Trent Miles that is never the case. In a humbling fashion Trent Miles and his key players Keith Rucker, Penny Hart,Robert Davis and Bobby Baker tells realistic expectations of their team; which have changed over the years.
During the start of the day media and fans were allowed to sit in on there football practice to observe both offense and defense lines. In between drills fans were allowed to gather short interviews about this years football program. Mid-day Panthers faculty and students gather around to watch the annual blue and white game. The blue and white tradition is for freshman and sophomore players to compete against the more season players on the team. After the competitive game the football coordinators gathered all the media in the auditorium for a closing press conference.
During the press conference head Coach Trent Miles coined the phrase “Take the next step” as the Panthers 2016 season motto. The goal for 2016 for these Georgia State Panthers is to win the SunBelt Conference. As usual, it is a process and a one game approach that starts with the first game vs. Ball State in the Georgia Dome on 9/2.
The multi-platinum selling artist Meelah took to the stage singing some of the 702 classics . If there was ever a rapper to exemplify the new wave in hip-hop, it’s Miroj. The ATL rhymer with his southern swag and down to earth personality has exploded onto the rap scene in the last year. It almost seems like he came out of nowhere. Thanks to strategic management and more importantly, a rabid Internet fandom, Miroj has created a name for himself and the hottest up and coming artist ffrom the south.
When Miroj tweeted a provocative political statement of an mixtape promotional trailer earlier this week, a lot of people assumed his new project was coming soon. They weren’t paranoid: Last night, Miroj surprisingly released a fresh song called On the Way, his first song release since project since his 2014 song entitled Martial Arts. Miroj tweets the eleven-track project has zero features; which is unusual for a artist who have been featured on a number of other independent artist projects such as Phresh Ali, Clay James, Southern Playaz and King Jai. The On the Way release comes after the artist came out of hiding for his latest feature on Domani debut of “Black Lives Matter,” a single dedicated to the recent tragedies in todays justice system.
We caught up with indie artist to discuss his recent plans in the music industry and what’s been the hold up on his latest project. Miroj says, “Its important for me to take the adequate amount of time to create music that no one else is creating. I want people to turn on the radio and undeniably know that hey that’s Miroj.”
Although, Miroj has not announced an official release date fans are still quite hopefully that the smooth lyricist will continue to make more releases and announcement within the next few weeks.
