The Auguest edition of ATL Live on the Park was an unique twist between old and new school soul. Held at the beautiful Park Tavern at Piedmont Park, the sold out show brought out generations of people from all over. Hosted by Boom 102.9, Ed. Lover; the evening included performances from fromer 702 member Meelah, Danesha Nicole and Music Soulchild with sounds provided by Dj Trauma. The night concluded with banging performance from brilliant musician George Tandy Jr. The August edition of ATL Live on the Park was sponsored by Gentleman Jack, Pepsi, ChooseATL, and Boom 102.9 and co-produced by Shanti Das and Marlon Nichols.
Event host Ed Lover kicked off the show with a special candidly speech on his support for the Black Lives Matter movement and expressed his condolences to the families of Alton Sterling, Philando Castile and fallen Dallas police officers. Soon after, new artist , Danesha Nicole performed her latest single When I Think of You. Her performance had even the most seasoned guests standing to their feet.
The multi-platinum selling artist Meelah took to the stage singing some of the 702 classics . Later her RnB singer boyfriend Music Soulchild joined her on stage as the couple playful singed rifts and runs. In return, the accomplished guitarist, performer and now solo artist thanked the fans for loving his family and giving him a reason to keep making music.
Shortly after, George Tandy Jr grabbed the emotions of the audience as he opened his set with a bold musical performance of his hit song March. Tandy Jr. encouraged the audience to stand in their greatness and also told the crowd that as an artist it is his responsibility to utilize his platform to uplift people.
